Breast Procedures by Columbus, Ohio Plastic Surgeons

Your breasts play a vital role in your aesthetic appeal, but factors including age, weight, and genetics can prevent you from achieving the form you have always wanted. The surgeons at Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery can help you achieve the naturally pleasing look that is right for you.

Breast enhancement options include breast lift, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and the correction of male breasts (a condition known as gynecomastia). For many patients, breast enhancement can:

  • Promote self-confidence
  • Help you look great in your favorite clothes
  • Encourage you to live a healthy life and stay in shape
  • Breast enhancement is often combined with liposuction to help Columbus, Ohio patients renew their overall look. Combined procedures are often very popular with moms who are looking to restore their "pre-baby" body with the help of plastic surgery.
Body Contouring Options

Our surgeons help you form realistic goals and choose the right procedure for your body. They offer traditional and advanced liposuction techniques, including Smartlipo™ and VASER LipoSelection®.

In addition to liposuction, Columbus, Ohio patients can choose other body sculpting procedures including a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), which is especially popular to correct excess skin and loose abdominal muscles caused by pregnancy or weight loss. Many patients are able to achieve attractive results by combining liposuction or abdominoplasty with a body lift, arm lift, or thigh lift procedure.

Plastic Surgery for Men

More men than ever choose cosmetic surgery for a more toned and youthful appearance. Genetics, medication, or weight fluctuations may work against your healthy habits, but cosmetic surgery can help you achieve a sharper look.

Popular options include:

  • Facial surgery to reposition the ears, reshape the nose, or correct tired, drooping skin
  • Liposuction to target fatty deposits for a fitter look
  • Tummy tuck to correct a flabby belly
  • Male breast reduction to correct a feminine-looking chest
  • Treatments and Procedures for Smoother, Clearer Skin
Face lift, mini face lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, and facial implants are some of the facial rejuvenation options offered at Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery. Medical spa options including chemical peels, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and a variety of dermal fillers are also available. Our practice is a popular laser hair removal center for Columbus, Ohio patients. Lasers can also reverse wrinkles and skin discoloration.

Dr. Treece

Dr. Timothy Treece Dr. Timothy A. Treece
In a recent survey of Columbus area cosmetic and plastic surgeons, Dr. Timothy A. Treece was selected as the region's Best Surgeon by his peers. "I try to incorporate a real artistic sense in my work to create tasteful results, not exaggerated or unnatural looks," Dr. Treece says of his approach. "And there's a real art to that."

Dr. Treece has had lifelong interests in drawing and watercolor but felt that a career in art "did not make as much sense as really helping people and being able to use science." His creative talents, nevertheless, remain crucial to his work. "There is simply no cookie cutter technique; the surgeon must match the operation to the person, and every person is unique."

Dr. Treece co-founded Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery with Dr. Susan Dietrich Vasko in 1997. The clinic actively supports a variety of charity organizations, including ongoing commitments to Race for the Cure and Interplast, an international group of academic surgeons who provide free facial reconstruction to children in developing nations. Dr. Treece also shares Columbus Aesthetic's dedication to the critical role surgeons must play in "helping plastic surgery students become knowledgeable so that they will do great work." As a teacher, he has received awards from his residents.

A Columbus area native, Dr. Treece graduated from The Ohio State University School of Medicine. He performed a five-year residency at the University of Houston. Dr. Treece then spent three years in the practice of general surgery before returning to O.S.U. to complete a Plastic Surgery residency. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been performing plastic surgery since 1992.

A skier and fly fishermen, Dr. Treece also enjoys sailboat racing on Lake Erie with sons Tyler, Dylan and Luke.

Dr. Vasko

Dr. Susan Vasko Dr. Susan D. Vasko
Dr. Susan Dietrich Vasko co-founded Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery with Dr. Timothy Treece in 1997. She was rated as one of the top cosmetic surgeons in a recent "Doc's Rate Doc's" survey conducted by Channel 10. The practice, which has grown more by doctor referral and patient recommendation than by advertising, continues to bring healing and restoration to those affected by disfigurement, and aesthetic improvement to those desiring rejuvenation of the face or body.

"Our group's philosophy is to give advice on things that are truly beneficial to the patient," explains Dr. Vasko. "We don't jump on bandwagon of every new technique that comes along. There are so many ads for new things that will only last a year or two because they don't come through on their promise. As a group, we think critically about each new approach."

That same critical thinking is needed each time a surgeon determines which methods will best meet the goals of a specific patient. "We see such a variety of patients and case situations," she says. "Each case requires a unique approach. I was an engineering undergrad, so I am a problem solver by nature."

Both Dr. Vasko and Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery support a number of charity organizations, including an annual booth at Race for the Cure. Dr. Vasko also serves as treasurer of the Upper Arlington Women's Club, a group providing scholarships for students. She and husband Mark, an architect, volunteer as Adult Leaders for the Boy Scouts.

An Ohio native, Dr. Vasko received her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed four years of general surgery residency and two additional years of plastic surgery residency at the Ohio State University Hospitals. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Heck

Dr. Robert Heck Dr. Robert T. Heck
A highly dedicated scholar, Dr. Robert T. Heck is a board certified diplomat of The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He graduated from The Medical College of Ohio in 1995 with honors and earned the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Membership. During his medical school career, Dr. Heck also was awarded numerous other awards such as the Marion C. Anderson and Toledo Surgery Society Awards for his academic achievement in surgery.

After medical school, Dr. Heck then completed four years of general surgery residency training at The Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Heck had many great achievements during his time that included The Outstanding Surgery Resident Award and The Golden Apple Resident Award for his excellence in teaching surgery.

Dr. Heck then spent two years at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in his plastic surgery residency. This is when Dr. Heck was granted the highly competitive Aesthetic and Breast fellowship in Los Angeles. Dr. Heck is one of a select few fellowship trained aesthetic surgeons. Dr. Heck trained under the direction of renowned surgeon Dr. W. Grant Stevens, M.D., F.A.C.S. where he refined his skills in aesthetic surgery and learned many cutting edge skills such as the Laser Bra which is a new and long-lasting way to reduce or lift the breasts. During his fellowship and after, Dr. Heck has authored many articles on cosmetic and breast surgery in the most well respected journals in plastic surgery.

In 2002, Dr. Heck found an ideal setting for his expert skills at Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, Inc. His practice has seen amazing growth since that time. In 2004, Dr. Heck won The Prism Award for his excellence in breast surgery.

One of the greatest aspects of Dr. Heck's profession is the boost in self esteem and self confidence his patients get after cosmetic surgery. The delicate nature of plastic surgery and Dr. Heck's attention to detail are a perfect match. Dr. Heck was named one of America's top plastic surgeons in 2006 by The Strathmore Group. Dr. Heck along with his partners is involved in many charitable organizations and devotes much of his time to the treatment and cure of breast cancer.

Dr. Wakelin, III

Dr. John Wakelin,III Dr. John K. Wakelin, III
Dr. John K. Wakelin III describes himself as an "all in one" plastic surgeon because of the wide variety of patients he is able to help. That variety makes each day special for this certified Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't love what I'm doing," he beams.

He credits his extensive training and meticulous attention to detail for being able to apply his breadth of knowledge in the treatment of his patients. "I try to approach each patient as an individual in order to really understand that patient's expectations and goals," explains Dr. Wakelin. He believes strongly that carefully listening to each patient enables a surgeon to "formulate a comprehensive surgery and treatment plan tailored to each individual's needs."

Additionally, Dr. Wakelin is enthusiastic about his work with numerous charity organizations. His missions with Operation Smile, an internationally respected charity, have taken him to developing countries like Honduras and Peru, where he performed reconstructive surgery on children and adults with cleft lips and palates. While discussing these activities, Dr. Wakelin states, "I feel a strong sense of responsibility to use my talents and training to help others in my community as well as other regions of the world."

Although this Ohio native will occasionally relax by running, sailing, mountain biking or cooking, much of his time is spent learning about the newest surgical techniques through reading and attendance at conferences. "I have always been very dedicated to maintaining and updating my knowledge. My involvement in teaching residents and medical students further drives me to stay on the cutting edge." Dr. Wakelin is a member of the clinical faculty at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, and was selected as one of "America's Top Plastic Surgeons" in 2006 by the Consumers' Research Council of America.

Dr. Wakelin received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, in Columbus, Ohio. He trained in General Surgery Residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center, and then he completed a Plastic Surgery Residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Wakelin is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
