Dr. Herbstman is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of several prestigious medical societies. Before establishing Contemporary Plastic Surgery, he had rigorous training and education that helped shape his skill as a plastic surgeon. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester, College of Arts and Sciences and received his M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. After completing his medical degree, he went on to complete residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. For General Surgery, he studied at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he became Chief Resident. For plastic surgery, he completed his residency at UMDNJ- New Jersey Medical School University Hospital.
