About the Doctor

Dr. Yale S. Popowich combines an artistic eye and strong sense of aesthetics with extensive education and experience as a plastic surgeon in Portland to provide his patients with optimal care and results. He offers the entire breadth of plastic surgery procedures, and specializes in reconstructive surgery for women with breast cancer who will be undergoing mastectomy. Regardless of the procedure, Dr. Popowich offers each patient personalized care, as well as unique solutions to help women and men reach and often exceed their cosmetic goals.

Dr. Popowich's Training and Qualifications

Dr. Popowich completed extensive training and education across the nation, and continues his active participation in the plastic surgery community. Dr. Popowich received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College in New York City in 1986, followed by a medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1988. He completed his general surgery training at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and finished his residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health & Sciences University in 2006.

Certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Popowich currently serves as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Providence Street Vincent's Hospital and President of the Oregon Society of Plastic Surgeons.
