About Dr. Stoker

Dr. David Stoker, a board-certified plastic surgeon, serves the greater Los Angeles area specializing in liposuction, face lift, breast augmentation and related cosmetic surgery procedures. From his undergraduate days at Stanford University to the present, he has earned many accolades and honors for his work.

While at Stanford, Dr. Stoker was awarded the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Major Grant for Undergraduate Research. He graduated from the University of California, San Francisco Medical School as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and he was also awarded a first place prize by the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation for his USF-based plastic surgery research. Dr. Stoker did his general surgery residency at New York University (NYU) Medical Center where he received the British Journal of Surgery Award for the highest score in the department on the National In-Service Training Exam. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU.

More recently, Dr. Stoker was listed in the New York Times Style Magazine as one of the three best surgeons in the country for liposuction. And he was honored to be selected by his colleagues to co-teach the course on liposuction and body contouring at the 2006 and 2007 annual meetings of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Stoker has gained national attention for his clinical research on power-assisted liposuction. He was chosen to serve as a plastic surgery expert on the Dr. Phil Show in 2003. His published works include a chapter on liposuction in a premier plastic surgery textbook as well as numerous journal articles on other plastic surgery procedures.
