Dr. Andrew Elkwood
Dr. Andrew Elkwood is a New York area native. He is a graduate of the prestigious 6 year combined BS/MD program at Union College, Schenectady, New York and the Albany Medical College of Union University, Albany, New York. Upon obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Elkwood completed a general surgery residency at the New York University (NYU) and Bellevue Hospital. During that same time, he received a graduate degree in finance and economics from Columbia University, New York, New York. Upon completing his surgical residency, Dr. Elkwood was chosen to continue his training at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital; Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH), which runs the world's busiest cosmetic surgery service. Dr. Elkwood also enjoys a teaching appointment at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ). Dr. Elkwood lectures and publishes widely in the fields of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Elkwood is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgery (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, an organization of only these Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who have demonstrated superlative skills and vast experience. Dr. Elkwood is skilled in many of the newest plastic surgery techniques. In addition to cosmetic surgery, Dr. Elkwood is skilled in microsurgery, limb replantation, and microsurgical cancer reconstruction. Dr. Elkwood's reconstructive surgery is going to be featured on The Learning Channel in a program called "Body Rebuilders" that spotlights four reconstructive surgeons internationally. He has been highlighted on "Trauma, Life in the ER" and on 20/20 "Repairing Dental Disasters." Dr. Michael Rose is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. He received a B.A. degree with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry. He graduated with the highest honors and several regional and national commendations for his research. Dr. Rose received his medical degree from The New York University School of Medicine. He performed research throughout his medical school years, and published several papers and book chapters during that time. He also presented at national and international meetings, and received a national award for his research. Dr. Rose then completed a five year General Surgery residency at New York University Medical Center. He was selected as Executive Chief Resident, and won the award for best surgical educator for that year. During his residency he did a one year fellowship in the Plastic Surgery laboratories at New York University Medical Center. Again, he published widely, and presented at several national meetings. Dr. Rose completed his training with a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While training in Atlanta, Dr. Rose worked with some of the top names in Plastic and reconstructive surgery. While at Emory, Dr. Rose published research on the safety of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Rose enjoys all aspects of Plastic Surgery, especially breast surgery and facial plastic surgery. While in Atlanta, Dr Rose trained with some of the pioneers of eyelid and cheeklift surgery, and he brings those techniques to the Plastic Surgery Center. The most modern and safe techniques for facelifts, cheeklifts, eyetucks, and browlifts are utilized by Dr. Rose. He also specializes in breast augmentation, reduction and lifting, as well as body sculpting such as tummy tucks and liposuction. In addition to his interest in Cosmetic Surgery, he takes great pride and satisfaction in performing reconstructive surgery after cancer surgery or deforming accidents. Dr. Matthew Kaufman
Dr. Matthew Kaufman is a board certified Plastic Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). His training was completed at the best training programs in both New York and Los Angeles. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton where he graduated with Honors and was named to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society. Upon completion, he attended medical school at the State University of New York at Syracuse graduating in the top 5% of his medical school class. While there, he received numerous honors including acceptance into the AOA medical honor society and an endowment scholarship for outstanding academic performance. Dr. Matthew Kaufman embarked on his surgical training at one of the nation's top training programs for Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. While there, he trained with world renowned surgeons dedicated to complex Head and Neck Reconstruction. Upon completion, he continued his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He learned the most advanced and innovative techniques in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, including the state of the art method of breast cancer reconstruction using the DIEP (perforator) flap, while working with many of the world's leaders in the field. Dr. Matthew Kaufman has the rather rare distinction of achieving board certification in both Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. This gives him the added expertise necessary to deal with complex cosmetic and reconstructive problems of the head, face and neck. He has special interests in reconstructive surgery for cranial nerve disorders, skin and head & neck cancer and vascular malformations. He is a Cancer Reconstruction and Microsurgery Consultant for the Head and Neck Oncology Group of Central New Jersey based at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Dr. Matthew Kaufman is highly skilled in all cosmetic surgery procedures of the face and body. These procedures include: facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation), nose reshaping (rhinoplasty), ear reshaping (otoplasty), chin/lip surgery, skin resurfacing, fat grafting, liposuction, breast augmentation, breast lift/reduction and abdominoplasty. Dr. Tushar Patel then completed and became board-certified in general surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He earned the award for academic excellence during his surgical training. During his training, he completed a one-year fellowship in the National Institute of Health funded laboratories in the Department of Surgical Sciences at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His research led to multiple publications as well as presentations at several national meetings. Dr. Tushar Patel continued his training in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship program at The University of Texas – Health Science Center in Houston at the World-Renowned Texas Medical Center. There he trained under many internationally recognized leaders in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery which led Dr. Patel to achieve board-certification in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Tushar Patel has a passion for and is highly skilled in all aspects of cosmetic surgery, including the face, neck, breast and body. This distinctive accomplishment along with his interest in advanced reconstruction has allowed Dr. Patel to be an active member of the reconstructive team at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) in New Brunswick. Dr. Patel has also been featured in the media at both the national and local levels with the Associated Press, WCBS(880), the Asbury Park Press and Good Morning America. In addition to serving the needs of his patients, Dr. Tushar Patel takes great pride in his humanitarian work in underserved communities throughout the world.
