Dr. Afridi is committed to providing her patients with individualized care tailored specifically to each person's needs, goals and expectations. She takes pride in providing one-on-one, personalized attention to her patients and feels it is important for a plastic surgeon to balance professionalism with empathy and patient-oriented care.
As a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Afridi feels she has the insight and perspective to keenly understand the needs and wants of her female patient population. She also takes the time to listen carefully to her patients in order to truly appreciate their concerns and to try to provide them with the results they want.
| About Dr. Afridi |
Dr. Nadia S. Afridi is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada, an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Upon completing medical school, Dr. Afridi entered a highly competitive integrated plastic surgery residency program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Five years of residency training culminated in a final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Afridi then completed one year of sub-specialty training in the U.S., focusing on reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery as well as body contouring with internationally recognized surgeon and scholar, Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell.
As one of a limited number of female plastic surgeons in New York City, Dr. Afridi is specifically interested in women's health issues as they relate to plastic surgery. In particular, being a new mother has made her keenly aware of the needs of young moms who want to experience the joys of family but keep their pre-baby physiques. Therefore, Dr. Afridi has established a keen interest and is specializing in post-maternity body reshaping.

Dr. Afridi is dedicated to fulfilling the specific and unique individual needs of her patients. To accomplish this, she schedules her consultations in order to provide adequate time for patients to explain their goals and expectations as well as to conduct extensive Q & A. The office also features Mirror Image digital imaging technology so Dr. Afridi can show you how you could look after your cosmetic procedure.
Dr. Afridi does all of her own pre-operative counseling and does not leave this to a nurse or physician assistant.

Candidates for breast augmentation enjoy Dr. Afridi's unique interactive consultation approach: they will be able to "try on the look" and help decide on the implant size before any surgery is planned. In this way, Dr. Afridi is able to tailor the sizing to each patient's needs, balancing what is surgically possible with what the patient desires.

Dr. Afridi performs office-based surgical procedures in a fully accredited ambulatory center, located in the privacy of her New York City office and certified by The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). Both the ultramodern surgical suite and recovery area are equipped to hospital standards and are completely state-of-the-art. Dr. Afridi uses only board certified anesthesiologists and provides safe, quality care in a comfortable environment.
