| About Our Battle Creek and Portage Plastic Surgery Practice |
When looking for plastic surgeons in Grand Rapids, Battle Creek or Kalamazoo, experience, education and skill are some of the most important considerations. The two board-certified plastic surgeons at Great Lakes Plastic & Hand Surgery, Dr. Scott Holley and Dr. Raghu Elluru, serve women and men seeking cosmetic and plastic surgery for a wide range of reasons. Our doctors are highly regarded specialists in their field, yet take the time to provide compassionate care and a down-to-earth approach during consultation, surgery, recovery and beyond.
After earning his medical degree from The Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Holley completed a five-year residency in General Surgery at Indiana University and a two-year residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Holley's experience includes additional Fellowship training in hand & microsurgery, burn surgery and cosmetic surgery. A warm and personable surgeon, Dr. Holley is devoted to honest patient communication and superior surgical results. His work has been published in prominent, peer-reviewed medical journals, contributed as an author to the textbook "Be Your Best," and he is a frequent lecturer on plastic surgery topics across the country.
With a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and years of post-graduate training and experience, Dr. Elluru's technical skill is complemented by his warm and welcoming bedside manner. After medical school, Dr. Elluru completed a five-year residency in General Surgery and a two-year fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center. He has studied under nationally recognized surgeons to refine his skills in hand surgery, microsurgery, burn surgery, and cosmetic surgery. His research studies have been published in national peer-reviewed journals and he is a frequent presenter at scientific meetings.
Our doctors perform a number of breast enhancement procedures to change the size, shape, volume, position, or symmetry of the breasts. Some of the options and techniques include:
- Breast Augmentation or Reduction: A popular option at the practice, breast augmentation uses either saline or silicone gel breast implants to increase volume and improve breast contour. Dr. Holley or Dr. Elluru will take the time to discuss implant options and make a recommendation based on your anatomy and goals. If you instead feel that your breasts are too large, the doctors can perform breast reduction, which reduces physical pain and can improve your self-image.
- Breast Lift: Dr. Holley and Dr. Elluru may use one of three basic approaches for lifting the breasts: the circumareolar, lollipop, and anchor incision technique. Women with minor breast sagging may benefit from the circumareolar technique, which leaves minimal scarring, while more extensive sagging often requires an incision around the areola, down to the base of the breast and along the breast crease (anchor incision) for maximum lift and reshaping.
| Other Plastic Surgery Procedures |
Dr. Holley and Dr. Elluru help a wide range of Battle Creek and Kalamazoo cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery patients. Other cosmetic procedures they perform include tummy tucks (abdominoplasty), liposuction, facelifts, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty.
Recognized authorities in the area of hand reconstruction, both Dr. Holley and Dr. Elluru perform many other reconstructive surgery procedures. They can reconstruct places on the body affected by skin cancer, perform breast reconstruction for women who have had a mastectomy, and revise the appearance of complex wound and burn scars. Doctors throughout the area routinely recommend patients to Great Lakes Plastic & Hand Surgery for the most challenging reconstructive surgery cases.
